Work Outs in Full Swing!
I didn't catch the pun until after I typed it, but swings are a big part of kettlebell training, which I am convinced is what is going to get rid of my bat wings ;). Right now my focus is swimming, kettlebells training w/ Delaine Ross at Gym Condition here in Atlanta and 30-Day Shred by Jillian Michaels, she rocks! My focus is 20-30 minutes/day every day of the week (hey a girls gotta have goals, right?).
I eat based mainly on the South Beach Diet with a focus on the 5 Factor thrown in. I focus on lean proteins (chicken, fish, low-fat dairy), complex carbs (fresh fruits & veggies), fiber (whole wheat flour), and healthy fats (extra virgin olive oil), very little packaged and processed foods and I eat 5 smaller meals a day. Smaller portion spaced out about every 3-4 hours works very well for me and really keeps my appetite in check.
I looooove Diet Coke/Coke Zero/Cherry Coke Zero and it's one of my few vices so I don't deprive myself if I want it, but I focus on trying to get 100 oz of water a day, which doesn't leave much room for soda :). I try try try to stay away from alcohol and while I tend to lean towards wine and beer as options it is really better to have something like a Rum and Diet Coke based on the calories and amount of it you tend to drink. I'll get into all of this later, but for now suffice it to say that alcohol is totally counter-productive to a weightloss plan :).
This is all not to say that I slip, but slipping a little is not a problem, I just get right back on. I have been staying off the scale lately since I find that it can sometimes sabbotage more than help. The workouts, how I feel, how my close fit and seeing the definition in my arms means more to me that that stupid scale :)!
Carry on and find what works for you!
